It's been a LONG time since I sat down and wrote a post. It's been quite a year and we have moved. We sold our cabin in Timber Valley last December and moved to Olympia, Washington in January. We thought it would be easy...but moving all of the household items and two studio spaces was really hard. I now have a small studio in our back yard and Ron is doing an amazing job of using an old garage space and a spare room to get his clay studio going at last. Always too much to do and too little time.
I'm not used to a bigger city yet even though I grew up in Portland. There is a lot going on in the Olympia area and lots more to explore. We've been working so hard on the house, garden and studios that it seems like we haven't looked up for the last year. We're now in a house and not a log cabin. People come to the door randomly for sales...a kid and his tiny brother trying to buy a skateboard. I sent him on up the street to an all kid area! Next... two guys with vacuum cleaners offering to clean our rugs...right then! I explained that we weren't quite ready for that kind of service! Religious kids and elderly chatting about Jesus are around off and on.
